Official Rules and Regulations

Contest will run from August 18, 2024 to October 20, 2024.

Eligibility: To be eligible, entrants must:

• Each participant may submit only one name suggestion.
• Multiple entries from the same individual will result in disqualification of all ballots from that person.

Participation:

Submission Method: Participants can submit their name suggestions by

• A paper ballot at an event where the panda is present
• Online through the Lions Club of Kitchener website, https://kitchenerlionsclub.ca/name-the-panda
• There is no cost to enter

Name Criteria:

• Names must be appropriate, respectful, and aligned with the Lions Clubs International’s values.
• Names cannot be the same as any officially licensed character owned by another entity.

Selection Process:

• The final mascot name decision will be made by a committee of the Lions Club of Kitchener who may include special guest judges at their discretion.

Prize:

• The individual whose name suggestion is selected (if selected) will receive an offer to be in the KW Santa Claus Parade with the panda, in November 2024 (no cash value). The Lions Club of Kitchener will determine how the person travels the parade route to meet parade safety requirements. All parade rules and regulations must be followed.
• In case of multiple submissions of the same winning name, the prize will go to the first person who submitted the name.

Claiming the Prize: To claim the prize, the selected entrant must:

• Provide their personal contact information
• The person or parent/guardian must answer a skill testing question.

Submission Deadline and Announcement:

The panda name submission deadline is October 20, 2024. The announcement of the selected name will be communicated on Friday, November 1,2024.

Conditions of Participation:

By participating, entrants agree:

• To abide by these Contest Rules and the decisions of the Lions Club of Kitchener.
• The winner must provide proof of identity within seven (7) days of notification. Failure to do so will result in prize forfeiture.

General Rules:

The Lions Club of Kitchener will not be held responsible or bear any liability for:

• Entries that are received late, lost, misdirected, incomplete, illegible entries;
• Entries which fail to comply with the Contest Rules;
• Failure of the internet, the website or contest QR code 0during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email system or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or handset resulting from taking part in the Contest;
• Losses, damages, or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest.
• The Contest Rules are subject to change without notice, if necessary, to comply with any applicable legislation or policy of the Lions Club of Kitchener or Lions Clubs International.
• The Lions Club of Kitchener may amend or terminate any of its Contests or any portion thereof at its discretion without advance notice.
• All entries become the property of the Lions Club of Kitchener, and none will be returned.
• The Contest will run in accordance with these Contest Rules, subject to amendment by the Lions Club of Kitchener. Entrants must comply with these Contest Rules and will be deemed to have received and understood the Contest Rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these Contest Rules, are not subject to amendment or counteroffer, except as set out herein.
• All improper entries will be voided.
• The Lions Club of Kitchener reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
• If the identity of an entrant(s) is disputed, the person matching the information presented to the Lions Club of Kitchener at the time of entering the Contest will be deemed to be the entrant.
