Lions Club of Kitchener
We meet the first Monday of the month from September to June. We would love to have you join us for a meeting.
Since 1937 the Lions Club of Kitchener has been serving the community. As our community’s needs have changes the ways we serve have changed.
What have we done lately?
Vision
We support vision projects including:
- vision screening in partnership with the University of Waterloo and the Cowan Foundation
- collection of used eyeglasses for recycling
- working in partnership with local optical suppliers to help people in need get the glasses
We remain committed to fulfilling the challenge issued by Helen Keller in 1925 to be the “Knights of the blind”
Hunger
We support hunger related projects including:
- Collection of food for local food banks at the annual KW Santa Claus Parade
- Packing items for school breakfast programs
Dog Guides
We support the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide program that provides dog guides free of charge to Canadian living with disabilities who need them. The 7 programs are:
- Service
- Seizure Response
- Hearing
- Canine Vision
- Autism Assistance
- Diabetes Alert
- Facility Support
